Complaint Builder [Consumer]

Step 1 of 13

  • HUD's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) begins its complaint investigation process shortly after receiving a complaint. You must file your complaint within one year of the last date of the alleged discrimination under the Fair Housing Act.

    How our process works:

    1. Set aside 30-45 minutes to complete the following form.
    2. Keep it brief.
    3. Once completed, you will be emailed your complaint (Word document).
    4. If you so desire, we'll refer your complaint to licensed attorneys in your area.
    5. We'll also provide you written instructions on how to file your complaint.
